Ed's passion for alternative energy is rooted in the early eighties when he custom-designed his third New England home with passive solar and a multi-fueled hydronic system. Along with a prior affiliation with USA Solar Stores, he is also a NABCEP certified PV Sales Executive. He is a renewable energy evangelist and social media maven.
Prior to launching Sightline Solar, Ed was CEO and co-founder of JustZip.com, an Internet marketing firm, where he is still a consulting board member. He is also a board advisor for TruSky, an eBay stores and eCommerce provider. Previously, Ed was recruited by Manufacturers’ Services Limited (MSL); a global supply-chain company. As MSL’s VP and GM of Design and New products, he lead engineering, manufacturing, sales, and M&A teams, that drove revenue from zero to $32 million, which was instrumental to a successful IPO.
Prior to MSL, Ed paralleled an engineering and management career at Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC), while studying computer science at the University of Massachusetts and Boston University. At DEC, he helped pioneer their proprietary CAD systems and was chief architect of PEARL, Digital’s first AI Knowledge-based design tool. His work was widely published and presented at the Artificial Intelligence, and Design Automation Conferences.
